Can I just say to the woman who pushed in front of me in the line at Cafe Kaz this morning

'Rude!'

Where have all the manners gone?

A very similar thing happened to me at Melbourne Central train station, where there was a queue to get through the barriers and to the escalators down to the platforms. Two people pushed in front of me. One was a middle age woman. Another was a middle aged man in a business suit with glasses. I know shows like ACA or Today Tonight are keen to demonize "the youth of today", but I swear the baby boomers are the more pushy rude people out there.

Ed, if you had to catch the train in the morning with the boys from St Kevins and Melbourne High, you'd be demonising the youth of today as well!

This morning I asked one of them (quite politely) to be careful with their backpack after they whacked my aunt with it because they weren't paying attention to the fact that she was behind them, and this led to them all making fun of me until they got off the train. I've half a mind to call the school and complain, only then I'd be a certifiably old woman.

I don't know. Perhaps for us it is more of a public transport lack of space issue then?

But Alana just had someone who was just plain rude. I think it is just an aspect of modern Australian culture. Now you would not see that attribute on the proposed 'Australian Values' test...

So Alana when are we going to be reading your next fabulous post?
